Installing new game to share

We had one Xbox, and I picked up a second this weekend. I made a new account for the new Xbox, and logged into the new Xbox with the account from the old Xbox, set it as home, and was able to download and share games. Now if we purchase a new game and
want it shared as well, should we install it on the new Xbox with the new account, the Old Xbox with the old account, or the New Xbox with the Old account?

You can purchase it anyway you want. If you purchase it from the new account, you'll want to set one of the consoles as the Home for that account in order to share it with any other accounts. If you purchase it from the old account, it'll automatically
download on the Home console for that account so it doesn't matter which console you purchase the game from.

Thanks for the reply. For simplicity then, I'll add it on the old account on the old xbox. The new Xbox came with Star Wars, and just wanting to make sure it's available on both consoles if at all possible.

if the download won't start, it also helped to reinstall the bugged gaming service

Thank you for the reply I appreciate it. I've come to realize we'd have to share. It's just frustrating especially game sharing with a 15 year old lol. I was wondering if there is anyway to transfer a game to a new account all together a new console without losing all the progress? Anyway to install the game onto an external memory drive and and then upload to the new console?

I re-installed the Gaming Services UI using the process in this article ( https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ne...s-fix-for-xbox-game-pass-installation-errors/ ) and it fixed my issue.

Installing new game to share
