    So I installed Final Fantasy XV from the Windows Store. Now, usually you just give your Windows user full permission and you can edit the files but now Microsoft have blocked that.

    Is there currently any way for me to edit the files so I can install mods? Before a moderator or ambassador comes in and starts saying they don't recommend editing the files because it is "dangerous", that is complete nonsense so don't spread misinformation.
    Steam allows it. GOG allows it. Even Epic allows it.

    Hello when it comes to any kind of modding wither it be via console or PC Microsoft/XBox will not allow it!!! Thats just the way they have ALWAYS Worked. For which ever reason if you are able to find a loop hole, itll work until its patched. You would
    hate to get banned for a mod though. Just play the game as is its not worth it.

    Would that still apply if files are being completely replaced, instead of modifying them? Since then you aren't really breaking the encryption.
    I would assume it wouldn't work. The WindowsApps folder and all of its sub folders and files are encrypted. Nothing can be added, changed or removed.

    Steam would be far less of a hassle.
