I keep having to re install games i bought a external HDD and transferred all my games over to it. At first everything worked fine all my games where playing and about 2 days after that i got on and everything said failed installation so i got everything
installed again and it worked great but after that now every 2 or 3 days when i get on its reinstalling a games or 2 like today its assassins creed unity and GTA V i installed assassind creed the night it came out and had been playing fine but now its reinstalling
it. Has anyone else had the same issue or just me? in all i have installed Dragon Age 2 times and Assassins Creed 3 times and every other games on my HDD at least twice

from the drive, but that's it. The Transfer Cable device is not visible in-game as a valid storage device.

Do they really expect me to pay for that 250GB HDD....................

The 4GB console is really for casual gamers. The HDD-equipped consoles
are for more traditional gamers.

Yes, they expect you to buy a HDD-equipped console or a HDD accessory if you're going to be doing more than casual gaming and light duty usage of the console.

[/quote]If you have a really slow internet connection then it might seem as the install is stuck because the console downloads a title update while installing. As the Forza title update is apparently massive being a few gigabytes then this can take hours
if you have a slow connection.

I suggest you to do a Cold Reboot before REinstalling.

Also check your power Settings. aloud the HD to update while powered of..

make shure you Transfer it correctly, after Transfer the games should be only on 1 drive not on both...

May your HD was not detected at this Moment,, so it went to reinstall it on the internal?

Can you say on which drive it will reinstall?

It is re-installing on the External and all the games are on the external only. as for the power settings it is set up to update while powered off but every time i get on it says installation failed and i have to manually re-install the games it is currently
re-installing assassins creed for the 4th time i have no clue why its doing it. it is also re-installing GTA V and Shadows of Mordor and Halo plus a few apps as well

If your Installation stops check your notifications..

Do you have enough free Space?

Set up where it should install by Default..

what is you energy Setting? should be instant on.. that it will download while console is off..

also check the device-power Settings, there is a Option to automatically turn off the HD...

try out which Setting works for you...

If games are disc based you^ll Need them for install.. for checking licence...

If it is Disc based game

Have you really uninstalled the game and then re-Installed?

Thank you for keeping us updated. Is this game a digital download, or a disc game? If it is a disc game, the disc could be faulty if used. Let us know this detail and we will do our best to help you out.

I would also test out your console to see if it is capable of completing downloads. Cancel the download for the cars game. You can then try downloading a demo, or a free game like fortnite.

Curious, how long have you let it sit at 40%? I've had games do this occassionally, and I'll see it sitting still when downloading and not progressing. I've honestly just left it and did something else, and came back later (maybe a half hour) and then
it would be moving a little again. I'm not sure if maybe the specific file it's downloading at that time might be larger or how it works, but I've done that before. I would let it sit for a little bit and see if it moves, but if it's not moving after 30-60
minutes then yes try more troubleshooting. Good luck!
