    INSTALLING A GAME?


    I installed my disc for Big Buck Hunter a couple days ago. seemed to install fine. then an update needed. the game will not play, directs me to go to the store or cancel. Does not seem to even read the disc now.

    I uninstalled big buck hunter and tried to reinstall it, now it doesn't even come up in my queue. Then, tried the same thing with HALO 5. Installed it, then tells me there's an update. originally installed fine, tried the update (which said there was
    over 50GB to update? I uninstalled it and now I insert that disc and it will not populate in my queue.

    Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

    installing a game

    I have a questions about this. Do I have to click on "My Games" and click on the game to play from HD, or can I still click on the game normally as if I am playing from the disk? Doing it this way will still play from the HD or disk?

    installing a game

    Not entirely sure how or why, but signing out and installing worked fine. I don't use cloud storage so I just skipped to the last step. Thanks!

    Hello Megan,

    Thank you for keeping us updated. Is this game a digital download, or a disc game? If it is a disc game, the disc could be faulty if used. Let us know this detail and we will do our best to help you out.

    I would also test out your console to see if it is capable of completing downloads. Cancel the download for the cars game. You can then try downloading a demo, or a free game like fortnite.

    Curious, how long have you let it sit at 40%? I've had games do this occassionally, and I'll see it sitting still when downloading and not progressing. I've honestly just left it and did something else, and came back later (maybe a half hour) and then
    it would be moving a little again. I'm not sure if maybe the specific file it's downloading at that time might be larger or how it works, but I've done that before. I would let it sit for a little bit and see if it moves, but if it's not moving after 30-60
    minutes then yes try more troubleshooting. Good luck!

    Although you have stated that you have already redeemed the code, I would just like to make sure you are doing it on the right account first, then, if you are, please go to https://redeem.microsoft.com/ and type
    in the code, from there it will tell you if the code is valid or not and you can proceed on to redeeming it. I am really sorry that this is being more complicated then it should be for you! I hope you have a great rest of your week!
