Installed in 2 locations, can't move, uninstalling from one makes game not work, etc

Tried playing Fallout 4 but it told me it requires additional reserved storage on the internal for some reason (never seen that before). So I went to move several items from internal to one of my externals, and multiple of them say the items can't be moved because they are already located on the external, for this I will use Crossout as my example.

I went to the internal and deleted Crossout since I couldn't move it, but once uninstalled, Crossout keeps saying it needs an update for me to play it. Even though my External is the default location, Crossout's update will only install on the internal. I have 360gb free on the internal, but apparently Fallout 4 needs to reserve even more than that, but since I can't uninstall or move anything else, I can't play Fallout 4.

How can I fix these annoying problems?

This is on an Xbox Series X

    :)

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this SKULLMAN87

Please try the next, all together.
But first, if you don't mind delete fallout 4 and crossout (if you have it installed)

    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
    3. Plug the console power cable back in.
    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

After that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

In case you need it, here's how to remove and re-add:

Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, try again

Solved. To fix this problem uninstall it from both external hard drive and internal if its already uninstalled that's fine. Have the default install location on internal. Make sure to have leftover space on internal storage. Insert the disc and install
on internal. Don't take the disc out at any point during installation. This should fix the problem. I believe the problem was that you can't move a game across storages if it is a disc game.

Can I share installed games in an external hard drive across multiple PCs?

Hi Owen! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

You need to install the games on the PCs you wanna use them, you could theres a way to move them across PCs but you need to move the files from locations to make it work

That process is done by selecting install, then pause it, on the path you choose to install the games copy the game files then restart the download, sometimes it works

    games

    Hi ,

There may be 2 ways depending on what you mean :

    1. If you have an installed game and you want to uninstall it , simply go to MyGamesAndApps right under the ''in use'' app or game in the home meniu , go to Games , select your game press the menu button (the one in the center of the controller with 3 lines
    ) and select uninstall

2.If your game is not installed and you just want to make it dissapear from your games , go to MyGamesAndApps , select your game , press the menu button and select hide from list . It will dissapear from the current list , but you can make it reappear by
selecting hidden games from the same menu . Sadly , you can't make them completely disappear .

    Kind regards ,

Xbox game pass for pc keeps installing games in the wrong location

Hello There ! I highly recommend following the troubleshooting steps mentioned on the link below:

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/games-apps/troubleshooting/troubleshoot-games-windows-10
Thank you for this completely generic reply.

Did you even bother to read my issue?

The issue is that the game will not install in the proper location.

This guide is for when games have issues after installing them.

I didn't install the game as I can't install it in the desired location.

So to reply to your guide:

    Did you reboot?

Yes, of course. Step 1 in case of issues. Still can't install in the proper location.

Did you uninstall and try again?

No, as I didn't install in the first place. But I did uninstall the Xbox app and reinstalled it. Still not able to install in the proper location.

I even doublechecked if the drive I'm using is working properly. Just installed a game from the Epic store.

Went straight to the D: drive, no problem.

And as the rest is about solving issues linked to the poor EA play integration, I can indeed confirm this is a customer experience nightmare. It looks and feels like something that you would expect from an indie company in 2004. But as it is actually made by 2 of the richest software developers in 2021, it shows how much they care about their clients.

So back to my initial question:

    any ideas?
