installed games via xbox app on pc disappeared

Hello Moderator,

I installed the app to a Solid State drive connected to my motherboard it's 1Tb and is the only storage device i have inside my Pc. This Pc does belong to me and I am the only one who uses it. There have been no new windows or OS updates since November 3rd. I am not apart of the Xbox or Pc insider.

I also appreciate the suggestions of what to do to fix the issue if it persists, thankfully it hasn't happened since my inital post. I will keep you updated if anything is to happen in the future

We understand that you're experiencing disappearance of your PC games on Xbox. Let’s us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

There could be reasons why this happens, and we would like to isolate the issue:

1. Can we ask what drive did you install the game? Is it on internal or removable hard drive or main drive of the PC?
   
2. Are you the administrator of the PC?
   
3. Was there a recent Windows update or new application installed on your device?
   
4. Are you part of the Xbox Insider or PC Insider?
   

One possible solution is to try resetting the Xbox app on your PC. Before you do so, please try updating your Windows and restart. Here are the steps to do so:



1. Update Windows device - Update Windows - Microsoft Support

2. Close the Xbox app on your PC.

3. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

4. Type "wsreset.exe" and press Enter.

5. Wait for the Command Prompt window to appear and then close it.

6. Restart your PC.

7. Open the Xbox app and check if your games are still disappearing.

Let me know if issue persist and please provide us answers to our questions above.

It could be an issue related to my PC, but it's very much limited to an issue with games installed via the Xbox App and my PC, and particularly Microsoft Studios games installed via the Xbox App on my Windows PC. Which, again, is disappointing, because if anything should work without a hitch you would think it would be Microsoft developed games installed via a Microsoft developed application on a Microsoft OS.

Today I noticed a new and very minor issue with the Xbox App - icons for installed games are disappearing from the list in the Xbox App. It started with Scarlet Nexus and Doom Eternal, with both getting generic icons when I "re-installed" them earlier today. And this evening it's spread to Guardians of the Galaxy, Gears of War 4, and Forza Horizon 4, with each one having its icon replaced with the generic icon when I click to select them. Oddly, Gears 5 and West of Loathing both still have their icon.

Exiting out of the Xbox App and restarting it resolved the icon issue, and also found other games I had installed that I had forgotten to "re-install", but it's just another weird glitch with the Xbox App.

I'll try the other things you listed and will report back. Hopefully we can find a fix, or at least eliminate some things that don't fix it.
