Installed game from Gamely want to buy digitally, do I have to download?

i installed Ryse from a Gamefly disc. i want to buy it from the marketplace. do i have to uninstall it and download it or will the license apply to the copy i have currently installed?

Digital download question.

I've been using Gamefly for years. Easiest thing I found to do... rent the game, if you decide you like it and want to buy it, buy it digitally. Since you've already installed it (and any patches you had to download) from the disc, you won't need to download
it again. Then just return the disc to the rental place.

you see, the point is he could have installed the games played them digitally and if he so chose to do so when he got tired of the games sold it GS.

You will not need to download it again.

The game that is loaded from the disc is the same game that would be digitally downloaded. The disc just acts like a license, while if you bought it digitally, your account acts as the license.

I'm a bit of both. I have about 9 Xbox Ones games and three games that I have downloaded from the EA Vault. My connection very quick at 120MB/s so downloading isn't a chore.

The last digital game I bought was Forza Horizon 2. My most recent purchase was Halo MCC on disc.

A really cool feature I do like is the fact that the disc installs are the same as the digital downloads. So if say a friend comes round and installs one of their games, then, later on, you decide you want it too, you can buy the digital version which unlocks
the installed game.

Whether it is a disc or digital purchase, all BC games are downloaded from Xbox Live. The disc is only used as a DRM license, no game data on the disc is actually used for the install process.

If you originally installed the game with a disc but you want to proceed with buying the digital version, you do not have to uninstall the game currently in your storage. You can simply continue playing!
