    Installation Stopped While Downloading Games - Series X


    Wondering if anyone else is having installation issues after joining the insiders program. On the series X I can't get the game to download more than 100-200 MBs before the download will pause and then stop saying installation stopped. Internet connection is very stable/fast but these constant pauses are causing the downloads to take several hours/days. When I initially got the series X it would occasionally happen but would resume the download instantly and finish with no problem. Now I can't get anything to finish downloading. While the download is actually happening in between pauses it's going really fast (~200Mbps) but it's the pauses/stops/resuming that's causing it to take forever. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I've power cycled the console, cleared local data, reset the console, and reset my internet multiple times. Nothing seems to do the trick.

    You are using a console yes? Which version is it? 360, XB1 or a Series X/S

    What game is it? Is it a full game or DLC? Is it a disc or is it a digital install?

    Does it give you an error message? Or does it start downloading and then just stop

    Have you tried cancelling the installation and then starting again?

    This is an incorrect assumption. You can insert an xbox one disc and download updates that may improve visuals and frame rates on Xbox Series X/S but in order to play you still need the disc unless you own the digital version of it.

    Xbox Series X will utilize the Xbox One X version of enhancements while Xbox series S will use the Xbox One S enhancements.

    You will not get a free game by borrowing or renting a physical version of a game and installing it on Xbox Series X/S.

    Xbox Series X games / upgrades / updates has to be installed onto the Series X internal or expansion card SSD,

    You can have Xbox One games on your external hard drive that will get an Series X upgrade but the games will need to be transferred to the Series X and then the Series X upgrade will need to be downloaded onto the Series X SSD,

    As an example...

    I have Marvel Avengers on my external hard drive that will get the Series X upgrade and I will transfer the game over to the Series X SSD ready to download and update the game to the Series X version when available.

    I cant download games it just started happening a day ago idk what to do.

    I am having the same issue. Started on June 20th when I went to update TheHunter Call of the Wild. Thought it was just that game, but it's every game. It'll start to update/download and then stop with the message "Installation Stopped". After a few minutes it'll try again and then stop. I have rebooted several times; reset while keeping games and apps; and even a full factory reset of my Xbox Series X and even reformatted my external drive. Still having the same issue after all that.
