Sometimes antivirus programs or Windows Defender can interfere with downloading and installing games. Try temporarily disabling your antivirus or Windows Defender real-time protection features while downloading and installing the game.

The Xbox app on Windows caches data that can affect downloads. Try clearing the Xbox app cache by following these steps:

Close the Xbox app.
Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
Type "%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.XboxApp_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache" and press Enter.
Inside the LocalCache folder, select all files and folders and delete them.
Restart the Xbox app and try the download again.
Reinstall the Xbox app: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox app on your computer. To do so, follow these steps:

Press Windows key + I to open Windows Settings.
Click "Apps" and then "Apps & Features."
Find the Xbox app in the list, select it, and click "Uninstall."
Restart your computer.
Open the Microsoft Store, search for the Xbox app, and install it again.
Sign in to the Xbox app with your account and try the download again.

I have the same issue, I even installed two never before played, by me, GamePass games and have since gotten 6 achievements, I am stuck at 2 of 3 Achievements.

i'm about 50/50 for digital games and disc games, but i haven't noticed any issues with installing from discs, last one i installed was Shadow of Mordor and i don't recall it taking more than 20-30 minutes.

if it is stuck downloading updates, you can disconnect it from the internet and maybe that'll get it going.
