    Installation issue resulting in can't launch any apps


    I installed Modern Warfare today via disc onto internal storage. I didn't have enough space to download the 70Gb update so I moved it to external & hit update, then let both run while watching a movie.

    Come back, and I'm able to play the game, but now Xbox is stuck trying to move the game from internal to external. I tried hard resetting, disconnecting external drive while off and then reconnecting it but the issue remains. Weirdly, now the issue has extended to the storage manager, as I had an error saying it failed to start, so now I can't instal anything or even launch apps (so unfortunately can't even report this via the insider app)

    Not really sure how this happened... Help/ advice would be appreciated please!

    Sorry to hear about your issue. I've attached a link with instructions on how to do a factory reset:

    I would also recommend unplugging/resetting your router at the same time you shut down the Xbox during the factory reset. You will need your account/password information to sign back into your Xbox after the factory reset. Let us know if this works!

    I'd suggest you Power Cycle your console. If it persists, you'd probably want to Reset your Xbox to Factory Default.

    Hi there

    it sounds like you probably will have to factory reset the console to fix the issue.

    If you do that remember to click the option to keep games and apps or every game and app you have installed will be deleted.
