    Installation failed?


    I have recently bought Farcry 4 for Xbox 360, I have been very excited and obviously couldn't wait to get on it!! However as soon as the initial 3.7gb download Starts it gets about a quarter of the way through and stops while a message appears Saying;

    'installation failed, installation could not be completed. Game data will be restored'

    I have tried it every which way I can possibly think of and have also looked on various other forums without any kind of solution.. Has anyone else experienced this and if so any advice?

    installation queued/stopped

    It seems the the installation continually changes from queued, to installation, and eventually installation stopped. Where you have to resume installation, only to have it fail again.

    Whats the deal?

    Halo 3 ODST "installation stopped" at 100% for many people

    nothing, 100% installation and nothing, installation stopped.... Installation failed? :(

    Do you already have it installed? because sometimes the installation fails and it really serves to delete it and install it

    if an updates fails to install properly then it can cause a full re-install of that game.

    Hello SN,

    Diego's mention of a soft factory reset would indicate that it is recommended to try resetting while keeping the games and apps.

    Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or
    apps. This will save you from downloading or reinstalling the large game files.

    Go ahead and try the step provided, and let us know the results.

    Which Factory Reset should be done? Leave the Apps and Games installed or also delete anything from the console?
