Install time?

I got my pre-ordered hard copy today, (call me old-school, I prefer the tactile experience of an actual disc) and started installing at lunch. after 1 hour, it was at %3 with no option to start playing. How long will I have to wait I wonder?

My plan is to play through the 4 titles in sequence on easy, co-op, just for the cinematic experience with my 11 year old son before I even look at the multi-player.

So far this looks like the only reason I bought a second xbox one controller...

Install or no install?

Ive installed both disks to my hard drive and played the game for about 3 hours and havent experienced any issues except for the pop ups in the opening cinematic scene, dont think it affects the performance as much as people think

Aside from the mandatory install I don't think I will be installing the play disc, from what I've read it seems to cause alot of popup. May try tomorrow to install and see if I notice any difference in gameplay, just can't wait for 12 to go pick up my copy
and start playing.

 

For me, it took about an hour and a half to get to 100% But I was able to start the Halo: CE campaign pretty early, maybe around 20% overall progress. But if are in game, the menu shows the progress of each game individually. My Halo: CE and Halo 4 were
done first, then Halo 2 and Halo 3 was last for me. But I was not able to play online until the game was 100%, that also includes co-op campaign(online, i cannot speak of local).

Installation of the game from the disk and the 15GB update took me just about 3 hours. Must be my internet since it peaks at about 15MB a second.

 

It is %100! woohoo!, now just have to finish the work day... I remember Halo CE Legendary was one of my proudest achievements on the original xbox, not sure if I'm still up to the challenge.

I have to be honest...using standard 20/5 cablevision and the new D-Link router they are giving out free (BTW, awesome n-AC router, not some cheap POS) I had the disc installed and the Update DL'd in under an hour.....

 

It is a very slow install. Took me a total of 3 hours to install the full disc. Kind of ridiculous but what can you do?

 

Its been more than 24 hours and just made 23%. Unbelievable

 

I started My digital PRE download at 2:30pm on the 10th. Didn't finish until about 9 am on the 11th. absolute bullcrap. My connection is hardwired at 30mbps and it was capped at 318kbps.

 

been installing from the disc and after 4 hours its only 3% this is ***, I took 18 hrs to install my digital copy of destiny, I hoped it would have been better with the disc copy of halo but Microsoft couldn't get its *** together after the destiny install
nightmare.

 

I've been having a problem, my game installation got to 100 percent but when I went in game, there was a portion that showed as only 78 percent and it would not install any further. And I can't play any multiplayer at this point. Any idea whats causing this?

 

Speedtest.net has my d/l speed at 30MBps ( it might be a small b, I forget ) , I'm getting my Xbox One on 11/15 and I'll download and install the digital version then. I'll put the install time here so that people can compare.

 

I think mine went "quickly" because it was from disc. I don't think the game install has to do with the internet connection, but the update definitely has to do with connection speed.

Still no halo 5 beta, but I did read the message that stated it is a work in progress, and they will be extending the beta.

My son and I are enjoying it. He told me this morning "dad, did you know the halo disc is thicker than the destiny disc?" I told him it was because the halo disc had more games squashed into it.
