Hi,

I have an Xbox one x and an Xbox one first day release.

The 2 Xbox are on the same network.

The Xbox one x always stop any installation of games: it doesn’t matter if downloading from store, installing from disc, doing a transfer from the old Xbox or even doing a transfer from the external hd directly connected to USB port to internal storage...it
keeps stopping the installation.

I already tried all the common answer “stop any running game...reset the Xbox and retry...clear local saved games...etc”.

The old Xbox works great on the same network... can I be forced to download games on external hd using the old Xbox and move the external hd to the new one to play on Xbox one x??

I really would like an answer from MS support otherwise next time I will try the PlayStation because this is not possible...

we have beat this hourse to death time and time again... heck the hourse may be a cat with 9 lives at this point... we want it like a fat kid wants cake... and we may actually be getting it soon.

The Xbox One in the photo shows 585.9 GB of storage available on the console, meaning it’d have to be connected and configured with an external 100GB hard drive. A pop-up on the screen also includes the message “External Drive Ready.” Unfortunately, we don’t yet have a timeline for when we might see this external hard drive support roll out to other Xbox One users. i personally hope/wish they give the ability to play music from a hd and use in game... (this would help twitch streamers as well) if/when i go hd u bet its 1tb+ so they better let the cat out of the bag what they will support and i sure hope its not a locked exclusive that sells directly from microsoft as a add on for big dollars.

External HD purchase error

I bought mafia 3 from the store, and when I go to install it, it says "error, see details" where it usually says downloading, and then tells me to install on my external HD. When I do this, it still says install from the store anyway! So what do I do?
It's either have two copies of the same game for some reason, or just have a glitch on the store saying install... this has never happened with any other downloaded games to my external HD before

I’m logged in with my profile...yes.

I have quite all my TB disk free currently...

I already checked these posts and I’m frustrated because these posts sounds like “is the Xbox correctly pluged ?...is it turned on?”...mah

We appreciate you reaching out to us. The guide provided had many steps to go through. We recommend cancelling the downloads, powering the console down, unplug the console and router for five full minutes, and try the download one more time. These are common

If it's from a Disc, then I would check
the steps here to resolve the issue.

Have you had any issues installing other games from disc previously? Or is this the first time? I would think this might be a case where you should install it offline from the disc, and then let it update online. There are a number of updates for the
game, and this can happen when the system tries to trigger a game update while it's still installing.

Additionally, are you installing to the internal drive or an external drive? And is this drive connected to a hub or directly into one of the Xbox ports?

Just to clarify, have you tested allowing the disc to fully install while the console is in

offline mode, or does the installation stop? Also, have you checked to see if there are any visible scratches or cracks on the disc and are you currently trying to install this game directly onto the internal drive on the console, or do you have an external
hard drive connected?
