Install issue not detecting hard drive

Go to settings>system>storage>click change where new content is saved change to desired drive and save. Then try installing a game again through the Xbox app or through the Microsoft Store app on your Windows.

with steam you can add additional disks in the downloads tab in settings

I use the same conventions of

Program Files (x86)/Steam

which I create before selecting the disk, this way the secondary disks are easily copied to another disk when necessary

I have several such disks to handle a large library of games

The Ethernet Cable wouldn't be the issue here. The issue with this specific error code is that the XBOX 360 can't detect your storage device for your XBOX 360 to install the update.

If you can't get it to install correctly with that hard drive, try to remove the hard drive and use a USB Flash Drive and configure that with your XBOX 360 and try to install the update then.

It appears that the installations for the games mentioned were not on the hard drive after turning the console on.

Originally was the hard drive detected when installing the games the first time around?

If the hard drive is removed for instance, do the games come up as installed?

By stop working do you mean your Xbox can no longer read/detect the hard drives or is the installed and saved data on the hard drive corrupted?
