Insider update keeps failing. Can’t use console.

The easiest way to get your console working after a failed Insider preview update is to Factory reset (keeping games and apps). Factory reset (delete everything) if keeping games and apps reset doesn't fix it.

An Offline System Update using OSU1 will NEVER work on a console enrolled in a Insider preview.

Thank you for keeping us updated. The reason we ask about the Xbox Insider program is due to the fact that the Xbox Insider consoles will have more issues than standard consoles. This is because the Xbox Insider consoles receive the alpha version of the
operating system. If the console is enrolled in the Xbox Insider program, we recommend

submitting feedback through the Xbox Insider HUB. If the issue is occurring only with DayZ, we recommend posting on the

DayZ troubleshooting forum. Be sure to keep us updated!

As XBF Brad A already mentioned, the last system update was from May 15th.

If you don't have your console on "Instant on" and the setting to keep the console updated automatically, your console will update the next time you turn it on after that update.

Also, if you are in the Insider Preview Program, you get updates more often.

If getting more frequent updates bothers you, consider moving to a "lower" Insider Ring, or completely opting out of the Insider Preview Program.

That way, you'll only get the mandatory monthly updates once in a while. Also, keep your console on "Instant on" settings and to keep your games and system up to date automatically. That way, the console will update itself when you are not using it.
