    Correct. Surface Pros and Surface laptops (like many computers these days), do not come with a CD drive. Your best option is to purchase an external CD drive which can be connected to your computer via USB. This is the best option if you're in areas with
    low internet capabilites.

    Otherwise, you can purchase games online and download them. This is a great option if you have fast, stable internet.

    As a Surface user for many years, I can confirm that this device has never had an internal CD Drive but you can add a USB external CD device should you wish.

    Gaming and applications have changed massively over the last 4 years and now the primary method of game delivery is via the internet with applications such as Xbox app, Microsoft Store, Steam etc being the primary methods of installing games.

    Games such as the Ubisoft Assassins Creed series can be downloaded direct to your surface, although I suspect the graphics requirements will not show them in their best light.

    PC gaming doesn't really use optical media anymore and even when they do, the game still has to be downloaded from the internet.

    Xbox One and PS4 disc games come on Blu-ray disc, BD has never made the transition on PC and no PC games (at least not any mainstream titles) have ever been released on this format.

    The Surface line of tablet/ laptop PCs are not really designed for PC gaming, not even the high end models.

    You can connect USB DVD/Blu--ray drives to the surface, but this would be for old games as already mentioned earlier.

    But if you see games like assassin's creed series, you have to download them on xbox one.
