Inner Sanctum freezing when attempting to enter (Dawnguard DLC)? well here's a possible ...

This is for the not-so newcomers to the game or the people who have just witnessed this and wants a definite answer to the solution without all the other mumbo-jumbo in all those other forums.

Simply exit the forgotten vale, back into skyrim and then fast travel around. Don't simply fast travel to one place, then immediately fast travel though as this has been known to cause some more problems. (So what you should do is fast travel to one place,
such as whiterun, then walk around for a minute or two, or sell/buy something) then fast travel again. Do this for as long as you wish but I would suggest a minimum of 5 minutes (not as though this would change anything though, just simply doing one fast travel
should work).

Or to ensure that it does work for a fact, instead of just fast travelling, go back to skyrim from the inner sanctum then do a quest, it can be a main or a side. I've personally confirmed this way to be a sure way to get into the inner sanctum.

This was done with a character at lvl 54 who was already pretty much invincible with the best of the best armour, and weapons + 100 stats in most skills and all that type of stuff. (I thought that what was causing this was the fact that I was such a high
level however this problem occurs for people even at around level 20) It's just one of those many random Bethesda glitches which comes with being a fan of their games.

MAJOR Issue With Freezing

Okay, freezing has been an issue for me in this game since the day it launched. However, it was never gamebreaking... until now.

First of all, I want to preface this by saying I regularly clear my console cache as well as the Skyrim specific cache & the game is loaded to my HDD.

Now, I've been playing this game a lot lately & if I played for 2 hours, I was guaranteed 1 load screen freeze. But today while playing the end of the Dawnguard DLC (which I have played before w/ minimal issues) I immediately froze when trying to go through
the Inner Sanctum door. I turned my console off, rebooted it, loaded the game up & froze in the same exact spot. Since then I've tried clearing my caches, loading earlier saves, fast traveling away & coming back -- all w/o a single problem UNTIL I get to the
door that leads to the Inner Sanctum. EVERY time I try to go through that door I immediately freeze.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm pretty far along w/ my character (level 63) & I'm getting pretty fed up w/ all the freezing, especially w/ my history w/ Bethesda games (namely FONV -- where I lost EVERY character because of freezing & file corruptions).

This is a known bug. According to the wiki, leave the area for a little while and then come back. Note that the link might have spoilers. Here is the text.


"Sometimes, for some unknown reason, you will not be able to enter the Inner Sanctum and the game will freeze upon the start of the loading screen. To fix this, leave the area for a while."

I would recommend completing a couple of short quests and then try again. Like always with Bethesda RPGs, create multiple saves along the way so you don't have to go too far back when a glitch occurs.
