    Initial update issue


    I bought an Xbox one S and I can’t get the initial update to complete. The console will turn off by itself everytime. It goes to 2% then turn off. I’ve check the power cable, it does not overheat, wont stay on enough to heat, my internet connection is good.
    Do I have a deffective console or is there a fix for that problem?

    my poor 8 year old is going crazy. Keep getting trouble with update msg but no code for 2 days now grrrrrrr! Trying to get support on phone or online but cant enter my name into fields. Pls help

    Hi

    As you have only just purchased the console I would try to take it back to where you purchased it from and request they replace it for you. However if you wish you could try

    updating the console offline     to see if you have any more luck with updating it this way.

    You should be putting the password in when you set up your network. If you're connecting wirelessly then it should have you choose your network name and then if you have a password on it then it should prompt you for it.

    If you have a lot of trouble with it though, if it's possible, try setting up a wired connection and see if that helps.
