Initial set up issue - I've run through the set up and already logged in but when i start ...

Hi everyone.

I'm hoping someone can help, i've just got an Xbox one and yesterday started to set it up. Sadly I rarely get the time to sit down for hours on end to babysit technology while its updating and setting up (i have a very slow internet connection which doesnt
help). So i left the Xbox updating and setting up and came back to it periodically to confirm selections as and when it was waiting for me. I got all the way through to the 'select a gold membership' payment option, but as i was unsure which option I wanted
to do, i left it for a while, got distracted and ended up not coming back until this morning, by which time the console had switched off. Now when i start the console it boots to the 'choose your time zone' page of the initial set up, then moves on to the
power option page and then the log in to your microsoft account, which is where my problem lies, yesterday i already completed the log in page step successfully, so now i just get an error message saying i can't log in with my details as someone is already
logged in with those details. As its a set up screen i can see how to get out of it to the home screen, skip it, log out so i can log back in, or do anything at all. Help!

New Xbox not allowing me to log in

Set up new xbox one with previous account from Xbox 360 and WIndows laptops, set account to be logged in automatically for that device

Logging in the next day,

I am at the setup screen, for choose location, enter location, enter time zone

xb1 asked for my log in, I entered it, then password, it says user already logged in, cannot add

Reboot puts me at same enter location screen, no button takes me to Home Screen

game freezing when I log in to xbox live

If I start the game and I am already logged in, it freezes at the start screen. If I log out then start the game, it loads but then freezes whenever I log in to xbox live. What is going on here?

 

I just realised I wrote 'can' instead of 'can't' in the title and second from last line of the post.

 

Firstly you should try and remove your account from the console and then you can try and log in again, please see below for details on how to remove an account from the console.

Hi gds, thanks for the idea, sadly i can't access the home screen, i'm stuck in the set up process and can't see how to get to the home screen from there. i have tried going to my microsoft account using another computer and changing my password as suggested
in the link you provided but when i go back to my xbox and start it up i get the same issue and error message. Any other ideas? Is there a way to get to the home screen without completing the set up again.

 

Unfortunately as you can't get to the home screen you will probably have to set up a second (temporary) account on the console using another e-mail address to the first account to allow you to get to the home screen and delete the first account.
