    I initially was ignorant and tentative regarding the XbLive Gold convert to Ultimate Game Pass (up to 36 mo) - therefore, being something new and ignorant to, I opted to play safe only doing 12mo xbox live > $1 upgraged/converted as advertised...

    At first I learned of from "sd" (deal watch/post forum) in which I was not 100% sure if this was legit, if it was unethical- takimg advantage of a loophole (which extortion and getting over on Microsoft has NEVER been something I wished to do, neither
    was the horror of potentially losing lifetime of MS Win & Xbox exclusive (yup 14 rings around this guys Xbox Live Seniority!)

    LoL my BIGGEST fear in pulling fast on MS and punished appropriately losing 25 yrs 100% MS Loyal Exclusivity >

    THE THOUGHT OF USING A FRUITY OS AND AN UNFAMILIAR JAPANESE GAME CONSOLE (Prefer Fellow Americans' creating my games, NOT that Console built by Anime)

    which if legit and of use, planned to simply do same with remaining 24mo of 36m/3yr max

    Here's question. After first, initial 12mo xbox live and $1 trial converted Game Pass Ultimate... Can I add the remainder 24 mo xbox live Gold and KNOW it will automatically convert exactly the way it did before (so all 36mo are game pass ultimate)??

    Yup. Unfortunately if you were to add 2 more years now, you would only add 8 more months onto the subscription.

    If you add gold while you already have Ultimate it will convert, but at a different ratio. 12 months of gold will convert to 4 months of Ultimate. It only converts at a ratio of 1:1 if you are upgrading to Ultimate from a standard gold or game pass
    subscriptions. You can view the full conversion chart in the

    So, only way to nail down the 3yrs upgrade for $1 was to have done it initially?

    Since I wasted my $1 trial conversion on only 12 mo vs 36mo, I blew the other 2 yrs, right??

    Thanks for your time and effort, in replying. Just needed to verify from someone who knew for sure... Unfortunate, all this stuff is rather new, especially to a 43yr old,15yr xbox live subscriber - I'm giddy I got 1yr ultimate for xbox live gold 12mo
    + $1 - HOWEVER, MS should cut some slack to those of us of whom were jumping in blindly. A 36mo xbox live commitment and cost is a lot up front. I'm afraid after feeling kinda alienated for not having done 3yrs for $1 conversion to 36mo ultimate- users are
    gonna resist ever paying $24/mo after a generous offer of $1 could have covered 3 years.!

    Wish I had chance to redo that one, if what I suspect is correct (should have nailed 36mo for $1...)

    My son has XBOX Ultimate. Someone has given him a 12 month XBOX Gold card as a gift. How does he use this code when he already has Ultimate?

    He can redeem it like normally and it will convert to Ultimate and add time to his current subscription. It will convert to 4 months of Ultimate.

    all automatically converted msp are valid until mid2015, all msp Cards that are redeemed after converting was started will ofc still add a value, but this expires after 1 year
