    Inexplicable ban


    I recently chatted with a Microsoft support representative and was redirected to create this post. I was recently banned on September 16th for violating chat terms and conditions. I was then banned for the same issue four days later on September 20th. This
    second ban was issued as a full xbox live suspension and the duration was listed as two weeks. I went to appeal the second ban because I did not understand how I could have been banned a second time since my communications were already taken away. I filed
    a case review and it was denied which I was willing to deal with and I looked to just serve the normal two week suspension. I was given back my communications on October 4th when the suspension was lifted and looked to send messages and use party chat. I was
    able to play games online like normal, however, I still couldn't use communications. I then waited several days to wait and see if the issue would resolve itself which it did not. In my conversation with the support rep. I was notified that there was a third
    suspension for the same violation, however, I am unable to see the suspension listed on the enforcement history page, therefor I cannot attempt a case review. I would have just filed a review but I am forced to post this instead. I am not denying the fact
    that I should have never been banned, because I do admit I was upset and sent a rude message to an online player but there is an issue because I've been banned three different times for the same thing. I was even willing to accept the full two week ban but
    there is still an active suspension lasting until December 29th. I was never notified of this ban until I received confirmation of the problem from the representative. I see no reason why I was or even could have been banned a third time since I couldn't send
    messages, use voice chat, cheat or even play online in the first place. I am asking for someone to please look into the third ban and remove it or fix the issue I have to where I can't use xbox live communications. The third ban to me is unfair or just a mistake
    since I have done nothing to receive it. I would appreciate any feedback to this issue since this is my only way of contacting support since the case review I submitted the first time was already denied and no other active suspension is listed.

    Live has suddenly stopped working

    Apparently a christmas miracle happened, because now it's working again for some inexplicable reason. I know I didn't do anything, so did MS do anything?

    Unfortunately this has been very common recently, but there is no way to contact the enforcement team regarding the extended suspension. Most likely they found something else during their review which is what caused the extension. All you can do is wait
    it out.

    The reason you can get multiple suspensions that stack up like that is because it takes time for MS to investigate reports. Let's say that a user sends abusive messages to 2 different people. Both of those people report the user. MS may investigate one of
    those reports and issue a suspension, but while the user is suspended they then investigate the other report and decide that that too warrants a suspension, so a second one is issued while the first one is still ongoing.

    As for the third suspension that doesn't appear on the enforcement website, sadly you're stuck between a rock and a hard place with that. Regular support won't discuss suspensions and will point you to the enforcement website, but if the enforcement website
    doesn't show details of the suspension, you don't know why it was issued nor can you contest it. I have seen one or two other people who ended up in the same predicament, but I don't know what the solution is.
