Incorrect internet download speed

I just got a new xbox one x. The download speed lists around 60 mbps, however the actual download speed is at least only 10% of that (in reality, only ~6mbps, even though it says its 60). Anyone know what the issue might be?

Incorrect download speed reporting

Its showing a transfer rate of 70MB/s avg, ( ranges from about 60 -80 ), but when i do the math of how large this update is vs how long its taking, it actually only getting 22 MB/s. Why is that?

You will get a download code for Madden, you will have to download and install it. Also there will be some updates for the XB1 as well as setting up the system. To get Madden and everything installed your probably looking at a decent chunk of time depending on your internet speed. I have 20mb download if your anywhere near that your probably looking at 3 hours or so.Click to expand...

I thought it was pre-installed like Titanfall?Click to expand... It might very well be but the descriptions say it comes with a Madden Download so I assumed it was a code, my mistake if I am incorrect on this one.

Hi there,

Are you using WiFi connection or wired connection to connect to Xbox Live?

Basically your download speed depends on your internet download speed.

It your internet is not a High Speed Internet service, it may take some time to finish your download. If you have a High Speed Internet, try using wired connection.

Old games were roughly 8 GB. I'm sure the average persons internet would take an hour or two to download those. The new games are 40-50 GB. If you don't have very high speed internet I imagine it will take a while to download. This isn't microsofts fault.
It is just simple math. If you have 2 mbs download speed and need to download 40000 mbs...It will take you 20000 seconds or a little over 330 minutes which is 5 1/2 hours. That is assuming you aren't on the forums or doing anything else to slow down your
internet.

I'm assuming you don't have high speed internet. I apologize in advance if my assumptions are incorrect.

It seems that the download speed is locked on the Xbox's.

Regardless of what my internet speed is the download speed never changes.

You gotta remember internet speed doesn't equal dow load speed

Internet speed is measured in mbps

Download speed is measured iMBps and it's not a co tent issue

Megabits ior gigabits is how we measure speed

Download speeds are counted In BYTES not bits

So 600mbps is 75MBps download hats not even factoring in distance from server, traffic etc
