Incorrect Gamepad Mapping

Connect your Xbox Controller to your Xbox, then open the Xbox Accessories app and find your controller. Click 'Configure' then click the little pencil icon. (✏️) then you will find the button mapping menu. Put those to how you feel they should be. now you mentioned that X was acting like A, so if the buttons are normal, even though its not good on ur PC, try swapping them around (X was acting like A, so in the button mapping area, Set X to A and A to B, and B to Y, etc.) and then try that. If that doesn't work, its either a controller issue, a PC issue, or try getting Microsoft. Once you've clicked on it, type 'Talk to an agent' into it. hit enter, then follow the instructions. Once you've done all that, you will be connected to a Microsoft Agent.

Well, I deleted all of it and re-install but still same. Also updated Windows except optional updates. Nothing change so far. But I've tried Steam controller input xbox support again, restarted PC and now gamepad is okay with Steam games. Seems like Steam input overwrites that messed up mapping but of course this is not a permanent solution, just a way around. Issue is still happening with Ubisoft games.

I'm curious; why some games are okay but some are not? I think, just a theory, some games are using their own gamepad layout settings and some of are using Windows layout. And issue is related Windows' gamepad layout. If the game uses its own controller file (maybe in the game directory?), it's okay but if it uses Windows file(in system32 folder maybe?) then issue happening. What kinda file that Windows uses for controller settings. dll? directx?

Hi, I think that the issue is the adapter and not Windows.
I prefer to not advise modifying the registry keys or modifying the system files . This can lead to other problems.

If you can, please try:
A. Use a different Bluetooth adapter in your PC
B. Try using the controller with a PC with a built-in Bluetooth card and check if the issue persist inside the games affected

I personally don’t think that’s an issue with Windows, could be that your Bluetooth adapter received an update recently.

But let’s try to cover everything from the Windows side:

A. Reinstall your controller driver:
Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager > search something like Xbox controller category (or similar) > expand the category using the little arrow (">") > select delete/uninstall driver

Click OK, restart your PC and reconnect the controller.

B. Reinstall / update the Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator driver.

You can do it following previous steps, but now select Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator.

Can take a while, would be great to wait up to 15 minutes before trying again

C. Try uninstalling the most recent windows update, just in case it is the one that is causing conflicts

D. Open task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily
Restart the PC and try again

E. Do a clean boot in your PC and try again

But you missed a point, if the BT adapter causing this, then why the Stadia Controller has the same issue with wired?

I think there is no point of trying another PC with a built-in BT card. This is about my PC, of course there will not any issue with whole different PC. What is the point? Unless if my 2 different gamepad broken somehow in the same time, there is no relation. But; I've tried my old BT 4.0 adapter. Still same.
