inadvertently redeemed x box gift cards

Hi I got 2 x £20 gift cards for my grandsons, not understanding the instructions thought I redeemed them to a gift card that could be then printed out to gift to them. I now have £40 sat on my account that I will never use. How can I either get the credit
to my grandsons or get a refund on them.

I don't know if this is posted to the correct place

So basically Microsoft has my money and it will sit there forever. Not impressed was a gift for my grandsons that they can't have now.

Unfortunately once they're redeemed there's no way to remove the funds from your account or transfer them to another account. You can use the funds to gift them games. https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/11/20/how-to-buy-a-digital-game-as-a-gift-this-holiday/

Hi, I redeemed a gift card through my microsoft account, and expected it to be available on the x-box (one of the devices attached to my account) but it's not available on the x-box. how can I make this available from the x-box?

Log in on rewards.bing.com, and select redeem, then gift card. In the box next to the gift card, select it, and choose 25, then select redeem and follow the instructions from there.
