inactive/abandoned or bot account name claimable?

Someone has same name as me after I name changed and I have suffix after my name, looked up his/her account it is a abandoned account or is inactive and has 0 Gamerscore with 0 games played and 0 recent activity, is there anyway for them to have suffix instead of me?

as an example, I have an account that I use for other things on Microsoft, it has a specific name that I chose a very very long time ago, it also has zero score or recent activity but because I use that account daily in other areas it will never free up.

just that an account has zero of everything does not mean it is not being used.

No,afraid not. If they change their tag or do not sign in to any Microsoft service for 5 years then it may become available.

Gamertags are used on other Microsoft services,not just Xbox live so there is no way to know whether a tag is in use or not.

I'm sorry but that's not possible. According to Xbox Support:

"If multiple people have the same gamertag, the suffix distinguishes them from one another."

someone stopped following you or Microsoft just unsubscribed inactive accounts or bots.

I never suggest abandoning any gamertag to try to move it to another account as there are bots out there waiting to snipe

Which is likely why you're getting the numbers
