Inaccurate Account Info, but I can't change it myself

So I am one of the people that can't get my rewards because my account "needs updating." The only incorrect information is how long I've been a member of XBOX Live. I have had a 10 year badge for at least a year, but the problem is I made my first and only
XBL account in April of 2008. I have had the associated email address since January 2000 - or thereabouts - but nothing Xbox-related until 2008. I have no control over that, so I'm wondering if it may be part of the problem with the rewards not working correctly? It
just dawned on me this morning that this may be associated with the issue. Thanks!

Changing email address associated with Gamertag

I'm having major problems with my Live account. Live suddenly started asking me to security check and enter in my password. Problem is, the account associated with my Gamertag (DanGogh78) was set up by my brother years ago and neither of us remember the
password. I tried doing the recovery reset process, and it gives the security question "Whats your favourite pet's name?" but I've used all of our pets names and they don't work. He doesnt remember.

I can't use the questionnaire because its essentially asking for HIS information, which is old, changed and inaccurate. He can't remember the information. I tried entering as much info about myself but it didnt work. I've signed on to a pseudo username
just so I can post this question.

There's absolutely no way it seems that I can recover my account so I can change my email address to my actual real permanent email address. Is there any way I can do this? I'd like to be able to keep using Live. Please help!

We will forward this information to the team investigating the issue, but it does not look like this would cause the problem with your account. Since this is an issue with your account data, your information could possibly be being directed from an account
with an older registration date. Unfortunately, we cannot diagnose this with our tools, so we will add this information to the case file for our other team. At this point in time they have not yet responded to us with any new information regarding a resolution

Hi XBF Nestor,

That's a good idea, but it won't work in this situation. The family account is already under my main account so I can't add myself. I could change the family 'owner' account to some other account, but that would mean changing my MS account info, which
will cause other issues. I do appreciate the help, but it looks like it's impossible.

For email changes, you'll need to make sure that the
Primary email is verified before changing your security proof(Email or Phone Number). because this is to ensure that your really are the
account holder.

If you will attempt to make any changes on your
account information without verifying the primary email. a
Recovery form will be sent to the newly provided email.

A Recovery form is another way of verifying the identity of the account holder, you will be asked provide some information.

If you can provide enough information that matches on the
account info (info during account creation), you will receive email for the
next step.

If you provided inaccurate info, its like there will be an investigation that will happen on your account and might take up to
30 days for you to make some changes.

I called and gave them all the info that was on account but the guy tells because he can't gain access to the account their nothing he can do . of course he can't and i cant because the guy changed everything all the info but i have all the original info.
