Inability to join or start parties

I haven't really cared too much to start parties, mostly because i either play alone or they're right in the room with me while we play. But recently i had bought a pair of headphones to use when i play with my other friends. Every time i try to create
a party or i try to join one they have made i keep getting a "party encountered an error" message. Why is this happening? My wife is on the same connection and NAT setting as me but she can join easily, but whenever i try to join the message appears. It is
a NAT type moderate and i play on a One S if thats important.

I am sorry that you are having this problem. I have the same problem years ago and this Support page fixed my problems, even though it
says for games in the title it is for parties too. I hope it does the same for you.

Resetting your router may bring you resolve.

To do this: 1) Unplug the router from its power source for 60 seconds 2) Plug the router back in 3) Restart and Reconnect your console

I'm able to connect to XBL but problems still remain.

Inability to send/receive messages and inability to join parties or invite people into them.

I'm having the same problem, also with the inability to have anyone join my party for more than about 5 minutes.

He randomly joins my parties or starts parties. I can be in game chat no party started. And a pop up says haters join your party then I get booted
