Sounds like the issue could be that the
controller or

Thank you for the continued help. For the NAT type it is set to open, the privacy settings are set to what you have said they should be on, and I just set it to those settings and it's still grayed out. Although there is a microphone icon that is crossed out when I open the Xbox menu at the top right corner next to controller percentage and gamer score if that helps.

I have been having the same issue for a few months now. I switched headsets and controllers and nothing helps (these same headsets/headphones work perfectly on other devices). Originally, I could still hear audio through the headset, but now I get nothing.
The microphone icon next to the battery icon in the upper right corner is crossed out and in a party it says “microphone is not available for these people”. When I go into settings, it says that my microphone is on.

I have tried every troubleshooting thing I can find and nothing helps.

This is beyond frustrating.

Sorry to hear about the chat issue! Before you stream with the Twitch app, the Twitch app should snap to the right. In that menu, navigate to the bottom and select 'Settings' and there should be an 'Enable Microphone' setting, along with a slider to adjust
microphone volume. Make sure your microphone is enabled and your volume is up and post back if that helps you out!

Tap the "Mobile GUI" button in the lower-right corner of your screen. Select "Hide Mobile GUI" from the menu.
