In regards to when one sells an Xbox1 Console to another private owner and would like them to ...

I Understand I would not have the right to continue using the previously reference game library however i have other things of value such as PC games i purchased separately as well as the OS and other PC relate items
including the ability to log in to my PC upon restarting it. I am planning on returning to xbox1x when work returns to stable. The games i had before are of little importance and i will start fresh when I get the new Xbox. I would like my gamer tag, and related
content i recorded etc. to remain my own. i thought it was simple as transferring it to his gamer tag to male sure he can download again and not be in danger of loosing his purchase or what not.

Thanks In advance for any info that can shine a light on this situation,

    Best regards,

    Adam "Real Deal" Hollifield aka

    :)

Sell XBOX - If I sell the Xbox, the new buyer can use my installed game?

If you leave the console set as your Home console they can access the games. You would still be the owner and they would lose access if you set another console as your Home or they buyanew console. You cannot sell them your digital games.

Oh, another little important nugget is they reference Forza... a Microsoft Studios game.

I believe over the course of time that was E3, MS released info about publishers being able to implement their own restrictions in regards to DRM and such.

What do you think DRM means exactly?

    Digital Rights Management.

It means they would have the right to say NO to the family share feature for their game...

Since you say you wish to keep your Gamertag and related content, and since digital purchases are tied to that Gamertag account, you can NOT transfer game licenses to another account.

    If you read through the
    Xbox Terms of Use
    , it will say:

"...hereby grants to you, the user, a revocable personal,
non-transferable license to use the Software..."

    (Emphasis by me)

So in short: you can NOT sell the rights to the digital software you have on your account.

Since you say you want to "start fresh", be aware that your Gamerscore progress will stay the same. So while you can "start fresh" by not using your previous savegame states, as long as you use the same account (with the PC related stuff), you will also
still keep your Xbox related stuff on that account.

Since Xbox also extends to the PC as well, with "Play Anywhere" titles being owned for PC and Xbox at the same time, I would advise against "starting fresh".

Simply keep your account and the Xbox games.

Also inform the seller about the following:

Since your Xbox One console is probably your "Home Console", the "home console" is able to "unlock" your games for anyone playing on that specific console.

However, if you get a new Xbox console in the future, and move the Home Console setting to that new console, the buyer of your old console will lose the ability to play your games.

So even if your future buyer can play your games, he should know that you have the right to remove the ability to play your games on that console any time you want.

In short: Digital games are not transferable, and are worthless for a used console buyer. They should ONLY pay for the hardware.

Another thing is that warranties are good for one year from the original purchase date to the original owner.

So if you sell it within that one year you are the original owner and the warranty would no longer be good.

    Selling xbox with downloaded games

Soooooo you bought a new Xbox One and then decided its not for you in the space of a few hours?

Like Farscape said, the game is linked to your account, you cant "unlink" the game and sell it to the future owner. That case you'll just have to sell it privately with no games.
