In MW2 everyone shows as offline and muted

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

I have here steps that we can try, please perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

It also mutes everyone in the party and wont let anyone un mute them. It's also has everyone offline even though they arent.

I'd go Dome also. Bootleg is so muted I can't see squat. Also Dome feels more like MW2 in terms of being able to use the Assault package. What fun is a Reaper when everyone is inside?

I actually just found out if i friend people in that party i can hear them it might be a bug because it happened many times before and my friend told me to friend them to let me hear him so, i would like that issue to be fixed if possible.

I would recommend quitting or leaving the party. After that start or join a new party chat and check if they are still muted. If they are still muted and you tried to unmute them then I would recommend trying to
remove and re-add your account.

Side Note:
It is
very important to make sure you know the primary email/password to the account before removing
it from the console.



To check the email being used with the gamertag, go to
Settings > Account > sign-in, security & passkey;
in middle column at the top it will say "show on home"
if it is checked it will rotate from gamertag and email on homepage. If it is not check marked, it will show in this box.
