Yes, I have 2 new good looking copies of gears 2 and just yesterday was playing it on my brother's xbox 360.

Then today I played a bit of it before deciding to update the 360, but then after the update his xbox began freezing on gears 2 just like my 360.

I tested all my other games (a fairly large collection) with both xboxes to make sure that they worked, and all but gears 2 was fine.

Even gears of war 1 and gears of war 3 work. Only gears 2 freezes.

I don't know what to do besides contact you guys about it, I really love gears of war 2 and not being able to play it anymore is devastating.

This has been happening to me on Gears of War 3, and it's also been happening on Gears of War 2. I can play by myself fine, but when I try to split-screen with my girlfriend, it freezes constantly. They had BETTER find a fix for this without having to lose
progress or stats.

As far as your XBOX 360 profile having differentiating gamertags this is due to the profile not syncing correctly with XBOX Live. When you play games offline and earn achievements that information is not uploaded to XBOX Live until you actually connect to the
internet at least once for a couple of minutes. This sync is usually solved by deleting the profile and downloading it again.

As far as your Gears of War 2 profile freeze issue, it seems that it's quite a common one, and something that is fixable at a cost... That cost is your rank on Gears of War 2. If you'd like to be able to play Gears of War 2 on your console with your profile
again you will need to follow the directions below:

1. Launch Gears of War 2 without signing in.

2. Go to Training Ground and pick the Submission training.

3. The game will ask if you want to play without a profile, hit yes.

4. While loading into the Submission training, quickly log in with your account.

5. No more freeze up, your profile has been reset and the game goes back to title screen.

NOTE: THIS WILL RESET MULTIPLAYER RANK PROGRESSION, CAMPAIGN PROGRESSION AND COLLECTIBLES.

There are forum topics available over at EPIC Games here and here that
give some more insight into the problem.

It's more likely "Double Threat Tuesday" as you have one great game, "Gears Of War" which is being threatened by 2 other mediocre and forgettable titles.
