    In Game Voices Don't Come Through The Headset


    With my headset on, I can hear the music and the crunching of the animals in my area, although I question its effectiveness as it makes sound around my whole body instead of one spot. I think this might be a feature that I can unlock as I play the game more.

    The real problem I am having comes from the narrators.

    Whenever a character speaks (in game), it comes through my TV and not my headset. This means I need to take off my headset to listen to the narrators.

    I found this to be odd, so I went through the sound settings in both the game and the settings feature on my Xbox One for my headset.

    No change, nor a way to find assistance.

    Google has been no help with this as all questions are geared toward problems of talking online instead of local on the console.

    Thoughts?

    What game is it and does it happen on other games?

    Use this support, Update XBOX wireless controller. Follow the steps for every controller you
    use. You may find connecting a headset adapter has its advantages.

    Those headsets are for voice... they don't play game sounds through the earpiece.

    Mic monitoring only let's you hear your voice through the headset. Do you perhaps have your voice to come through the tv as well? If not have you tried a different controller or headset?

    Microsoft really screwed up, Again

    The thing is I'm sure that the 'puck' is only mono for voice, when you buy swanky headsets they take the voice chat audio from the control pad but get game audio from the TV or Audio tuner etc. So you can set voice chat to come through game/tv audio so
    you don't need to connect anything to the control pad at all. It's not ideal but it would be a temporary fix until adapters and new headset's become available.
