In-Game Purchases Being Blocked...WHY and How to STOP IT ?!

Greetings!

I have just been blocked AGAIN from trying to make an in-game purchase from a non-Microsoft App that I downloaded from the store last year (Angry Birds 2). I've never had an issue making a purchase and there are NO changes to my payment method. This makes the third block in less than a month!

After spending half a day on the MS website trying to find out why I couldn't make a purchase (because I knew it wasn't a problem with my credit card) I was finally told I needed to call XBOX, even though I don't use XBOX to play the game being blocked.

The first time I called the agent was pleasant and she got me up and running immediately once she confirmed it was on their end. So 2 wks later it happened again and I called XBOX. When I spoke to the 2nd agent, I asked what I could do to stop the account from being blocked. I asked if there was something I could change on the account. She told me to limit my purchases.

Really? Limit my spending? WHAT, is Microsoft my MOTHER???

So my question to the forum is this: Is there an option on the account that I could turn on to stop the blocks OR would it help if I use the Microsoft Wallet? Would the Wallet block me as well if I make too many purchases in a certain time-frame? (Which would be stupid because I have already paid for what I am downloading!).

I can't be the only one having this problem, right???

PS -- This is the first time I have ever had to post something, so you have to know this is really irritating!

Unfortunately, as this is an automated system, there is nothing you can do on your side to stop being blocked. There is no option about this.

What I would suggest you to do is to try to purchase gift codes and redeem them on your Microsoft account balance. As you mentioned, I believe this would make it harder for you to get blocked. But I'm just guessing. We cannot know for sure how the Microsoft system works to block transactions/accounts.

I contacted XBOX Support yesterday morning. This time their agent told me that my bank was blocking the purchases.

NOT true, because that would mean my bank is ONLY blocking Microsoft. No other purchases are having an issue. I called my bank a couple of hours ago and confirmed it is NOT the bank. It is Microsoft.

I had already decided to try Gift Cards and redeem them into my MS Account. Unfortunately, the account is STILL blocked.

I will be calling again in a few hours if the block is not lifted and explain it is not my bank blocking the purchases.

So frustrating!

Ok this is for all of you parents that would like a run down on how to stop your kids from being able to purchase anything on the xbox live marketplace. On your childs xbox go to the privacy tab. At that point block being able to purchase anything without
entering a 4 digit code that you set. You can also use this code to block movies and games over certain levels. If you buy a PS3 good luck with that one. Because ps3 has no parental controls. It also has internet with no parental controls and if you know when
your kids get to the teenage age, they going to be looking at stuff they shouldn't this is why we got rid of our ps3. Get ur code and block access thats why I love xbox bc of parental controls!
