In game chat not detecting a microphone

I've been using a Bluetooth microphone for a while now, and I've been having an issue with it where the games I've been playing don't detect a mic at all. Party chat works perfectly fine but in-game chat just doesn't detect a microphone. How do I fix this issue, I had it before but it just randomly started working one day.

I've already tried opening a party and just switching to game chat but that doesn't work, and my nat type has always been moderate so it doesn't make sense why it's suddenly an issue now. I'm playing on the Xbox series s, and the game I'm mainly trying to get it to work on is destiny 2.

Hi PerseusRed, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

Check that your privacy settings allow communication with everyone. Press the Xbox button to open the guide and select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy. Select View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer, and then make your changes.

If everything is on "Allow" or set to "Everyone" kindly block all of them then power cycle your console and "Allow" and set to "Everyone" again. This is to refresh your accounts setting.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

I am having the same issue with steelseries arctis 9x

I believe its the game as warzone still picks up the mic where destiny 2 does not have a mic icon.

I can't hear anyone and they cant hear me.

Also everyone else's mics work fine.

What kind of headphones is your son using? These are connected to the gamepad/controller or to the USB on the Xbox One?

Also, if you start a party chat on the console, does it detect a Microphone or you see on the screen something like "No microphone was detected on these users"? For checking this :

- Power on the XBOX

- Press XBOX Button on the gamepad

- Press left two times

- Start group

And you should see that message in there in case that it doesn't detect a microphone.

That generic support doesn't really apply here. The problem is with a PC microphone, not an Xbox One microphone. The Xbox App on PC detects the mic and it works if I start a party via the app, but it doesn't work in any capacity on the Xbox One for parties
or game chat.
