What changes in Fallout 4 do you like that they added in?

I think the story is quite engrossing this time. It was a bit weak in the others, if I remember correctly.

All I remember from Fallout 3 is that you were looking for your dad and it started out promising, but I think I had so much fun with side missions and exploring that I kinda forgot about the story. And in NV....ehh, it was okay story-wise. Basically, choose
a faction and do all of their missions until they get unreasonable and then jump ship to another one. haha I think I belonged to all of them for a while and ended with Mr. House.

I love the settlement idea because I love building stuff.

THANK GOODNESS Dogmeat is tougher this time around. In Fallout 3 when Dogmeat died 20 minutes after I got him, I was like, NO BETHESDA, NO!!!!! and had to go to an earlier save and keep him in my Megaton shack, which defeats the whole purpose of having
    him in the first place.

And the Dogmeat version in NV was a weird robotic variant that had different brains? I never enjoyed that concept.

Less ghoul bum-rushing. THANK YOU BETHESDA. Remember in F3 how you would get ridiculously overrun with ghouls in every subway tunnel? Well I did until I got the ghoul mask, which was the single best thing I ever earned in the game.

Now the ghouls just sleepily get up from the ground and come running at you. They ARE a lot creepier now though.

The power armor is a nice idea....I think I'm happy with it. Once I can modify them a little bit more and have more parts, I think I will like it more. It took me a while to understand the concept so I was running around in a plain frame for about 5 hours
before I was like...hmmm...something seems wrong. Improvements over Fallout 3 and NV? :p

The graphics aren't so dreary and the changes in weather are really great!

My only complaint is why does the map seem small to me? Is it? Am I just imagining things? The Skyrim map seemed ginormous.

Over all, I'm really happy with the improvements and enjoying the game so much!

    :)

    I seriously don't get Fallout 3...

I love both of the games, and can find faults in both of them. New Vegas was an improvement over Fallout 3. But I did not like the setting in NV. I also did not like how little exploration there was. So many areas that have nothing in them.

fallout new vegas was a huge improvement on 3

they also iirc made fallout 1 and 2, which the original fanbase swears is better in the story department though I never played them

I wouldn't disagree with any of the above, I do like how you don't have to endlessly open every drawer and cabinet now, the only thing im not sure if I like is the way critters now come out of the floor to attack you...

  5. I haven't seen anything come out of the floor yet. What kind of creatures? I'm not liking that idea, haha

Radscorpions and molerats mainly. The molerats aren't too bad, but on my arrival at Parsons Asylum I had three normal and a glowing legendary radscorpion surface unexpectedly, wasn't pretty.... First ever radscorpion I came across in the game literally
popped up under my feet, I almost went into cardiac arrest... I preferred 3 and NV when you could see the things milling about from a distance...

I don't like surprise creatures either. It seems there are some creepy locations in this version of fallout. An asylum? Ughh :/

Definitely wearing my power armor in there!

I love the weather effects in the game and the contrast in colours as it changes. There's been some mad Vertibird battles in downtown Boston in my game as well, I love hearing the sound of one above and seeing the shadows pass across the sides of the buildings
    as one flies over.

Another thing that is a massive improvement is actually being inside some buildings and being able to see outside through windows..

@Bizzaro nowhere can be worse than the haunted building in Fallout 3, cant remember its name but it was dark adn had stuff that moved on its own and a ghoul population that worshiped some mental idol in the basement AHA!!! Dunwich Building its just popped
in my mind as I type! That place was bat droppings crazy!!!

I like that my weapons don't break down. That was so annoying in New Vegas to constantly have to look for replacement armor.

Also, and I may be in the minority here, I like that they did away with skills. I like that I can take a rather crappy piece of armor and buff it up with mods.

  12. I agree with Eggnogga about the lack of having to repair everything, all the time. That got really old. I question the statement about skills? Like, you mean having to level them up? They are still in the game....

I like that this world feels so much more alive than the previous installments. The weather, the color, the random battles that happen all the time, it's like here is a world that exists even if you aren't doing anything. People are going about their lives
(or deaths!) even if you aren't watching them, you know, like real life!

Oh, and I like how I can totally cherry pick the loot after watching two factions go at it.

Gunplay and colors in the world. Goodbye weird brown/green tint, say hello to lots of colors! And no more having to constantly rely on VATS for your shooting needs. This time when you aim at someone's head, you'll hit that head, unlike in the other 3D Fallout
experiences where you might still miss lol

  14. I miss all the time with VATS. Maybe because I put all my points into intelligence and charisma. : /
