    As a special thanks for your loyalty, we will not be recalibrating your MyVIP Star Rank progress at the end of 2017. That means your current progress towards your next star and % back on purchases will continue on into 2018, rather than being adjusted to
    meet your 2017 spending. Thanks for being a member of Xbox Live Rewards, and happy holidays!

    Important News about MyVIP and Pre-Orders

    Over the past year, many of you have spoken about your disappointment in pre-orders no longer counting towards MyVIP. We wanted you to know that we’ve listened. For the month of September, pre-order games purchased in the Xbox Store WILL count both towards
    your MyVIP progress AND your percentage back on purchases if you have at least 1 Star. With so many games coming out in the next few months, it’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on ALL of the upcoming titles you have on your wish list.

    But we’re not stopping there. We won’t be recalculating your annual progress towards MyVIP until the END of 2016 instead of on September 1. That’s four more months to build your Star Rank. Consider it our way of saying thank you for your dedication and loyalty
    to Xbox.

    Thanks for being members of Xbox Live Rewards, and for continually showing your passion to the game!

    Question about choice not to recalibrate for 2018, 5* VIP, etc.

    Hi Griffin11287! Since you are a 5 Star member now, you will remain at 5 Star throughout 2018. Unfortunately, we do not have any information as to the plans for 2019 yet or how MyVIP will be recalibrated. We also have not been told about changes planned
    for 2018. We will let you know if there are any more changes coming. Thanks for being a member of the program!

    Rank and discount never happened

    It sounds like you may not be aware of the VIP recalibrations that occur annually. MyVIP had a recalibration for the last few years. At the end of the year, we place you in your MyVIP rank for the new year based off your eligible spending from the previous
    year, and set your progress to the default state. This happened in September 2015 and December 2016. We did not recalibrate this year (December 2017).

    additional monthly missions and other ways to earn for more members around the globe.

    Based on community feedback from our members, there was some confusion about when and how MyVIP would be recalibrated on a yearly basis. In order to simplify and streamline the process, and to let you know exactly how much time you have to build your rank,
    moving forward we will recalibrate your Star Rank progress based on the calendar year. That means you currently have until December 31, 2017 to boost your starting 2018 MyVIP Star Rank, which will be based on your overall spend between January 1 to December
    31, 2017.

    In the future, we will consistently recalibrate your MyVIP Star Rank based on your calendar year spend from January 1 to December 31. We are also focused on adding even more ways to Reward our most loyal VIP members with additional special offers and VIP
    Exclusives events. Check out MyMissions for all of the most current ways to earn!
