    Important information on the Halo 5 Collector's Disc Swap that's NOT on the page


    As you may know, the Halo 5 Collector’s Edition doesn’t come with a physical disc, but Microsoft will allow you to contact MS Support to get one by giving the download code to a MS tech support agent and giving your gamertag,
    address etc.

    An important bit of information that is NOT on that page is that you’ll already need to have your XB1 console registered to your Microsoft/Xbox Live account. If you haven’t registered yet they can do so via chat, but If you don’t
    have access to your serial number they won’t be able to complete the request. I was at work when I tried to do it and

    was told to try again when I had access to the serial number.



    Your XB1 console is not automatically registered to your XBL account and they can’t ‘look up’ the serial number based on the last XB1 console you logged into.

    Halo 5 collectors edition disc swap doesn't work

    That is odd indeed. According to the support page a console serial number is not one of the requirements for doing the swap.

    I would try contacting them again and point out the support page does not list that as a requirement.

    Halo 5 Disc Swap process is not as easy as it sounds.. Microsoft, take note.

    Hi there!

    All of the information about this process can be found here:

    I'm not sure where you are getting your information about the false shipping times and extra information.

    All you need to do is contact Xbox Support and they will be able to swap your unused code for a physical copy.

    You never could automatically register it

    You had to do it on the website manually even with 369 or original or the one

    Thats normal for all consoles as you couod be using someone elses console

    There is only one account that a console can be registered to

    You signing into an console would be problematic if your friend that you signed onto his console ever requires repair as you would be registered owner

    The support page on this matter only states the Limited Collector’s Edition of Halo 5: Guardians, but since you do have to contact official support for it you can always ask them if the code from the console is valid for this exchange as well. Just be aware
    that you will only get the disc, you won't get it in a case because the case itself is supplied in the Limited Collector’s Edition of Halo 5: Guardians.
