Import failure/error resolved Me1 to Me2

Mass effect 1, to mass effect 2, backwards compatibility on the xbox 1.

I had just finished the first mass effect and was ready to move on to the next game. But of course the import failed and sent me back to the intro screen. So I looked it up and others claiming killing Saren again to unlock the 'Newgame+'. I killed saran
and the screen still didn't change. I put Me2 back in and tried it again but still no results. I did all the misc. Restart internet/xbox/unplugged everything/checked my network/swapped to my mobile Hotspot, the whole shebang, But still no conclusive results.

Last resort I called Microsoft support as I always do when I've exhausted my resources, as far as this issue goes, there's no evidence across the Internet I could or they could find relating to this issue. Because its about the import from Me1 to Me2 backwards
compatibility on the xbox1. Other forums discussed another issue with the local saves, and cloud saves not matching up correctly. My first reaction when I looked at my storage and saw 'delete local saves', was "im not throwing my 20 hours of saves away". Microsoft
said that if u delete it u get rid of corrupted files as well. So I quickly did its cloud sync thing for when u log in and enter game on xbox live cloud syncs, and deleted my local saves. The xbox restarted and my cloud synced and thank God my saves were all
still there, so I tested Me1 again killed Saren and main screen still didn't show 'Newgame+'.

I about gave up but still went ahead and popped in Me2, and hooked up to my high speed Hotspot off my phone, and presto I was able to import and play Me2. So I immediately swapped back to my slower net and then the import failed again. So I reswapped the
net again and it worked, I popped in Me1 and the 'newgame+' doesn't show up but Me2 STILL WORKS. Wish I knew this 6 hours earlier but glad I figured it out, I'm not a forum writer but I had to share this for anyone who may have had the same issue.

In conclusion the possible "corrupt files" were deleted and re synced, and the slow Internet was keeping me from playing because of a "switched user profile" error. The best way to resolve this is find a fast connection, import your character, and as soon
as u possibly can save. Then quit and log off xbox live or you will be booted off again by a switched profile. Good luck and hope this helped.

Correct me if im wrong but I believe the only romantic option for male Shepard is Liara unless you have an imported game from 1 and 2. You can fool around with the news gal but I dont think you can have a romantic relationship with her.

Male Shepard relations in 3

Liara = import from ME1 and/or ME2

Ashley = import from ME1

Tali = import from ME2

Miranda = import from ME2

Jack = import from ME2

Well, wait until you get to the credits in ME1. Then put in ME2. Press "New Game" and choose "Import ME1". Choose the character you made in ME1 and press start. All of your choices from ME1 will carry into ME2, and eventually into ME3.
