Based on your description, you are using a different Microsoft/Minecraft account from the original account you were using before and acquired the Minecraft cape.

Your Minecraft account must have migrated to the original Microsoft account email address where it was first created.

In order to fix this, you will need to find the Microsoft account where your Minecraft was migrated and where your Minecraft game license was purchased.

Kindly sign in to all of your Microsoft email accounts on account.microsoft.com > payment and billing > order history > select the date of range when you purchased your Minecraft game.

From there, check if you have any Minecraft transactions. If you have found the transactions, use the same Microsoft account to login to Minecraft Launcher.

If you're unable to find the Minecraft game transaction, check your other Microsoft email accounts' order history.

Yes this is the only game I'm experiencing this. Also, we are on the same minecraft build/version. It is very confusing.

I have tried:

Turning my Switch off and on again

Uninstalling Minecraft and reinstalling

The purchases aren't showing on my Microsoft account, but I have the emails on the same account I'm logged into....

I'm confused did Microsoft just straight up lose my purchase history???

I am devastated and confused and feeling helpless

Ok I'm very confused I tried Halo again as well as space engineers and now the error is back to only affecting Minecraft again.

This was very helpful, I was having the same issue with my child's account. The error inside Minecraft really should state the gold requirement specifically. The PC Bedrock doesn't require gold which was confusing.
