I'm unable to download anything on my SSD from windows store. Why?

Discus and support I'm unable to download anything on my SSD from windows store. Why? in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I did make sure my SSD was the correct format when I first installed it.     I'm unable to download anything on my SSD from windows store. Why?


    I did make sure my SSD was the correct format when I first installed it. When I try to download anything from the Microsoft store my SSD shows up as an option. After i select my SSD for the location of the download, It will say "Preparing for download" and "Queued". The game will then not download at all and just alternate between the 2 status'. I have tried to restart my computer and that has not worked. Please help.

    The Windows Store wouldn't let me switch from the default of the C: Drive when choosing where to install, which is also my SSD and only had about 45 gigs of space left on it, Gears 5 needs 59ish gigs to install and it kept giving me an error. As soon as
    I downloaded and used the Xbox(beta) app which let me choose my D drive to install it, it started downloading.

    I think this might be the major problem a lot of people are having. IDK why windows store is only defaulting to the C drive(its not uncommon for that to be everyones SSD drive location and also not uncommon for people to not have available space on it)

    But regardless even if you bought it on Windows Store like I did, it should start downloading on the Xbox(beta) app which works for windows 10 automatically without having to buy it twice or anything. It's even concurrently tracking the download percentage
    in the windows store as well so I assume that should be the end of at least my problem with it. Once again, much thanks to for pointing this out.

    When I tried to download it directly from the store I looked at my queue and the gamebar and a couple other game related assets needed to be updated, so I did that, then I installed gamepass ultimate for PC and now Gears 5 is downloading for me, a;so be
    sure your windows is updated fully to the latest version.

    Also make sure your drive has enough room, the store defaults to C:, which for me is my SSD drive, had to use the gamepass app to install it to D.

    Xbox app in pc does not detect games after reinstall

    I did not reinstall windows but I clone my C drive files from old ssd to new ssd.

    After using the new ssd for a few month, I decided it was time to free my old ssd so I formatted it. After that I need to reinstall the windows store and xbox app.

    AloofConch207, just to clarify, are you stating that when you visit the Windows Store (not the Xbox Store in the Xbox app) you are unable to download anything?
