I'm trying to use the gamertag shark and it wont let me

I've been trying to change my gamertag too shark and it says its been taken and not available but when I look it up on the xbox menu it doesnt show up so I'm not sure if I can use the gamertag or not

You cannot because it is already taken. The reason you cant find it when you look it up is because you have to type in the gamertag exactly as the person who owns it currently created it as.

In this case it would be owned as "Shar k" already and spaces in a gamertag are not recognized as making it unique so to the gamertag system "Shark" and "Shar k" are the same exact gamertag so thats why it wont let you have it.

If the system says it's taken, then it is in use somewhere on Microsoft's servers. Even if you can't find it as an Xbox gamertag, tags are also used on services like Zune. The person who is using it could also have different spaces in it than what you're
trying, which the system would still recognize as the same tag.

Everytime I try to change my gamertag- it wont alow me- it repeats “Sorry something went wrong- try your gamertag again” I have the money to buy a new gamertag but it still wont let me. Can someone help me

If teams are available add and oldschool shark...you wont find more dedicated users...sharks quick match record is something around 150-50. Hit us up

LOL, well most of you are partly right, here it is... When you sign up for a profile if it becomes inactive for some time the WLID can become deleted, the GT is still floating out there. XBOX will go in and clean these old GT's off of their system after
so many years. the reason that you can't send a friend request is because there is no WLID attached to it. So it's in Limbo. you will need to creat a variable of the Gt that you are wanting. IE: MONKEYPOO MONKIEPOO M0NK13P00 ETC... TIL YOU FIND SOMETHING
THT IS AVAIL AND not in lombo or does not ahve a WLID attached to it. Good Luck
