I'm trying to swap email addresses for my xbox 360 account

Maybe I'm not being clear or I'm not understanding the instructions. I have an email address associated to my xbox account that was set up automatically when I set up the xbox. I cannot access this email address, it doesn't have a microsoft account allocated
to it as far as I can see. I want to remove that email address from xbox and assign my new fully functioning microsoft email account to to the xbox account. I do not care if the existing email address disappears as long as my existing profile moves to the
new address and I can for example, receive email notifications.

I am not changing anything on a microsoft account, I am trying to swap out an email address.

The Gamertag in question is OrlandoN,( my first name & initial)

I've noticed different MS accounts associated with it,

On 360 it points to a deactivated ISP email address.

On Xbox One recovery it directs to an MSN email.

I previously had this gamertag swapped with the one I'm now reaching you with,

and haven't accessed that account since.

Please assist with this messy situation. Thanks!!

you can't swap them, the microsoft account is the xbox account is the email, they are one in the same.

There isn't a way to swap accounts as contents and accounts cannot be transferred from one email to another.

Finally completed the swap .

When trying to swap out an expired , unusable email address associated with your profile & fail , you need to check a few things . Go to that email addresses Microsoft account page to see if that account needs to be verified ( message will be at the top
) , if so , MS Support has a page to do that ( same page used to verify a profile recovery ). Then make sure there is no money in your Xbox account ( Microsoft points ) . I had a nickel , did a split purchase with a credit card ( bought a movie ).

If the swap still fails , wait 30 days in case you have a suspension pending .

After I successfully performed the swap I had to do one more thing to complete it . On the 360's dashboard , my old email address still appeared with my profile . I pushed the center button on the controller , went to settings , deleted the profile ( Profile
ONLY ! ) , then downloaded my profile back again ; which reset the old address with my new email address .
