Or you and your son has their own account?

In the meantime, this can be a bit odd but try this:
go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings

Once you’re inside the Advanced Settings menu, go to DNS settings and select Manual from the list of available options.
When you get to the next screen, enter 8.8.8.8 in the box associated with the Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 in the Secondary DNS box.

Once the default DNS addresses have been changed, restart your console and see if the issue has been resolved at the next console startup.
If that doesn't work use 1.1.1.1 as primary and 1.0.0.1 as secondary

And try downloading a different split screen game to isolate the problem a bit more.
You can try with gears of war or halo

Is this happening on Xbox or PC?

If its on Xbox, what console do you have?

Is this happening only with this game or if you try a game with the split screen feature something similar happens?

And, what did you tried so far to fix this

In that way I can advise you different things or how to proceed

So it worked for a couple days, now all of a sudden it’s doing the same thing…tried the other DNS numbers and it’s still not working…any other ideas?

I have an Xbox series S…I’ve only tried split screen on this game, my son is getting into Star Wars…I adjust the video output to all available options and then also tried clearing the ‘alternate MAC address’ that was suggested by another post I saw. I don’t have another split screen game downloaded, but the rest of battlefront works fine. Thanks for your response! My son and I really hope we can get it to work!
