I’m trying to add an organiser in the family app.

Are you the organiser of the family group? Can you try doing it from the organiser account?

You can simply remove your self from the family group since you're an adult. To do so, sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/family.

Just check you are not part of Microsoft Family account. There is a privacy setting that restricts playing Minecraft Dungeons.

If you are, these setting can be changed by an account organiser using the Xbox Family settings app.

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with adding a child account to your family. I understand this can be frustrating so I’ll do my best to help!

First make sure your daughter isn’t already in a family. An account can only be part of one family at a time.

Try from a different browser (chrome, microsoft edge etc).

Also try adding your daughter to your family on a different device. You can adjust your family settings online on the xbox website, or through the xbox family settings app on mobile or xbox one. You can install the mobile app

For Xbox One:

Profile and System > Settings > Account. Select Family
settings > Manage family members. Select add to family, then select the account you wish to add by pressing A (the green button) on the controller.

Trying from a different device should resolve this issue, otherwise I’m not sure what else to suggest especially as you’ve already talked to support multiple times regarding this. I also understand it doesn’t help that there’s no solutions to this error
message.

Im not sure how he did it, but my 14yr old son has changed his Microsoft Family account setting to ‘organiser’. Is there a step by step guide on how to change it back without having to completely delete his profile and achievements?

I’ve added myself back in as another organiser on a different new profile with the intention of removing his status (as i know all the logins etc ),but every time i try to ‘remove’ him it says i need to amend the permissions for my other childrens accounts
with no clear method of doing so.

can anyone help?

I've just had this exact problem with my son! The easiest way to do it is to just delete his profile, but that, although it would teach him a lesson, does seem a little harsh - he has worked hard building up his game achievements, for instance. All you need
to know is that he / you have access to the email account that acts as the log in for his profile. First of all, change your password for your account log in - he probably knows this & this is how he's altered his status from member to organiser in the first
place!

So, after that, what I did was this-

1. Log in to microsoft family using your organiser profile.

2. Click on your profile and go down to family members.

3. Remove his profile from the family.

4. Go back and add a new member to the family.

5. Add his email address to add him back in as a member of the family albeit as a new member.

6. Make sure that you select him as "member" rather than "organiser".

7. He will get an email invite to join back into the family, then you approve that using your credentials.

8. He should now be in as a member, but not an organiser.
