From the Xbox Store in a web browser, you need to select the option to "Buy as gift". In some cases, this option may be a bit hidden, and you may need to click on the three dots option.

Using Forza Horizon 5 as an example, you can buy it as a gift, as shown in the following image:



However, some games have a more direct option, as shown in this other image:



Keep in mind that it's possible that some games or items cannot be purchased as gifts, or that certain regions may not have this option enabled.

I'm signed into the correct account on the Microsoft Store website/app.

It has nothing to do with an account.

The game code from Walmart says redeem on the Mojang site - which, because of the account migration for that game, leads to the Minecraft.net site.

The Minecraft.net site's redeem page doesn't even list the Windows 10 edition. It's FAQ/Help sections says to redeem on the Microsoft Store.

The Microsoft Store gives me the error code

"Check the instructions that came with your code. You might need to redeem it on a different web page."

Which leads me right back to where I started.

This has been the worst experience trying to buy a game, ever.

I'm having a huge problem and I don't know what's going on. See, I haven't played on Xbox 360 since 2012 and I'm planning on buying an Xbox One. however, I just signed into this site with my windows live ID and now I'm logged into a completely different
Xbox account that I've never seen before. Is there a way to sign back in with my old account and not this BS account I'm using to ask this question with?

Well I went into account.live.com and sorted various proofs out. I removed my account and recovered it, after updating details on the account site, and it seems to be ok now.

Give that a try as it worked for me. I'm now signed in on my xbox one.
