    Hello, me and my friend were on Gta online and this guy kept killing us, so I messaged him. He started threatening me and said he sent my ip to the fbi and stuff, is that possible? I’m under 18 and I’m scared. I was talking to someone a second ago
    but I went out to find his name and it kicked me out of the chat

    If you still have his name/gamertag you should report him. Normally nobody should be able to see your IP address. Also, you should not talk to people like him. Avoid confrontation and just report him. Also, is GTA only rated 18+ only? :)

    First of all, he can't report your IP to the FBI, as you (probably) didn't do anything illegal on that IP address.

    However, depending on what you messaged him, he can report you to the Xbox Live Enforcement Team. And if you messaged him with something that violates the Microsoft Code of Conduct, the Xbox Live Enforcement Team has to act on that report.

    So, unless you actually did commit a crime like terrorism, drug dealing or planning an actual murder via internet from your IP address, the FBI won't do anything. Well, they probably do something against the guy falsely reporting you to the FBI.

    Best thing to do is to report and block the person so that Microsoft Enforcement can deal with it.

    No need to be scared, the guy is just trying to mess around with you. I suggest restarting your router so that it resets your ip address and so that no personal information can be found from it.

    No need to be scared , but remember if someone is breaking the Microsoft code of conduct then you should have report him and ignore. Its never wise to message the player 👍
