I'm pretty sure the Xbox Accessories app just killed my xbox one controller i got yesterday.

So, I found a good deal on some Xbox one controllers a while ago, ordered them, took about two weeks to arrive since the store was in China. Just started using them. Tried updating the firmware with the Xbox Accessories app that is available on the windows
store.

I left the controller plugged in all day, I did not disconnect the controller or power off my PC. I came back this evening to see that there is 0% progress, then I noticed my controller was powered off, while it was still plugged in. I cannot get it to turn
back on now. I even double checked by swapping out the batteries. The controller is dead. There is no way to turn it on now.

The way I see it, Microsoft now owes me a new controller, due to their **** app design. How do I submit a claim on this?

xbox one controller

I just got my xbox one yesterday and the controller came with the left bumper not working out of the box . I seen a lot of people having this issue with the controllers. It's pretty bad that I got it the first day and I'm already experiencing problems

Controller bricked after firmware update

It just happened to my Xbox One controller!

The Xbox Accessories app is a lot newer and it can't detect it since it got in DFU mode!

Please, help!

Please plug the controller back in via USB to your console and hold the xbox button and the menu button (3 lines button) for about 10 seconds until it turns back on. This resets the controller's firmware.

Yeah everything is updated. I just updated windows yesterday to make sure and I reinstalled the xbox accessories app just to make sure I had the latest version.

Turning off the ability to launch the game bar through settings did solve one problem, but it didn't fix the bluetooth issue. It also doesn't prompt me to update the controller when I go into the accessories app. IDK I think I just got a **** model that made it through quality control. Why does a 179.99 dollar controller have bluetooth issues and reads the A input as a A+Xbox button input only through bluetooth? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you have anyother ideas please let me know otherwise I'll probably be heading to best buy soon to get a replacement.

Also just for more context to the issue, I don't have an issue with the bluetooth dongle on my PC because my normal xbox one controller works fine with bluetooth. And I tried the elite controller on another PC and it does the exact same thing.

I'm pretty sure that they'll have bundles with an xbox one and a headset/ accessories in it.
