Discus and support I'm on the beta program but still can't play online without gold... in XboX Insiders to solve the problem; I've tried every free to play game I have installed and it always says I need to have gold...     You can still play free games without a gold subscription (excluding games with gold), toy just can't play them online. Which honestly is what most of them are. Online is becoming the new norm, and will only become more essential moving forward.

    I can't play games while connected to live.

    It could also be that you are silver. You can't play online without a Gold membership.
