I´m having problems with the Xbox game pass ultimate 1$ promotion

Whenever I go to the Microsoft store and try to buy the Xbox GPU for the 1 dollar it advertises itself as, it tells me to pay the full $14.99 instead. Do I need to have already purchased the regular game pass to get the upgrade or is something wrong with
my console?

Ultimate game pass promotion. If you have had Ultimate game pass in the past you will not be able to get the promotion. The 1$ promotion is for new customers to Ultimate game pass.

Just works like that, I guess it's not a problem, I usually buy the 1 year gold subscription, it's cheap, and now, I'm using the Game Pass Ultimate promotions.

To clarify a little further, if he bought the $1 promotion it was for Game Pass Ultimate, not just Game Pass. Game Pass Ultimate includes Gold and Game Pass so if you already have a subscription for those when you purchase Ultimate, the remaining subscription
you have is cancelled and upgraded to Ultimate as well (meaning he would have had Game Pass Ultimate through December). By cancelling Game Pass Ultimate, it would have also cancelled his Gold.

No. The upgrade is not tied to any promotions or only for new members. Anything you have a standard Gold or Game Pass subscription and then you but Ultimate, it will upgrade what you have to Ultimate at a ratio of 1:1.
