With the exception of 360 games as those are region locked

And no it's a violation of the rules as you arent supposed to ask for anyone passwords they are supposed to be physically there to download their profile

And foo many times have I seen people report the msg asking for gameshare login info and they get banned for phishing which ix correct or worse they hand you a stolen account and you get console banned for accounr theft and phishing

never EVER trust an "friend" on the internet it offering free games it will end badly for you

You arent allowed to ask for anyones login details period over xbox live

And no gaimeshare isn't meant to share among strangers or steal peoples accounts

Are you and your friend in the same Country/Region? I live in Canada and my friend lives in the USA, he tried to surprise me by gifting me a game for Christmas however it didn't work as we are in different countries. He had to contact support to get a refund for the game. In the end he sent me money to purchase the game as he wanted to give me a present haha!

I am on the console I purchased it from, and this is the account I purchased it from () but I would like to be playing it on my main account (Jolly Rancher26). It won't work on either one even though it's still in the recent games of Jolly Rancher.
I only really use this account for purchases since I moved from Canada to the USA. My other one won't let me purchase things anymore

You can have your friend contact support explaining you didn't know and maybe they'll be nice enough to refund! Happened to me once, I'm in Canada and my friend is in the USA, he gifted me a game as a surprise but I was unable to redeem. Support gave him
a refund as it was the day of the purchase.
